God Today's daily devotions are free email devotions sent to your email
address Monday thru Friday. They are fresh original works that are
written daily. The devotions can be read as text only, directly from
your email program, or, a link is provided to view the devotions online
with a beautiful background to accent the message of that days devotion.
We also feature a Spanish Version to the devotions. These are at
present only available online each day. There are no archives for the
Spanish devotions but we hope to be able to accomplish that soon. Below
you can read more about the beginnings of God Today Devotions.
We
began our Daily Devotions
November of 1999. With the support, encouragement and knowledge of computers
from my husband Robert, I began to write and post the devotions on the
web. Our list of subscribers began with under 10 people, most of which
were supportive family members. We now have over 8000 subscribers &
growing daily. All of this growth stems from word of mouth & no
advertising what so ever.
I am not usually real comfortable talking about myself,
but I do like to talk about what God means to my life. I was raised in
Church, and although, we didn't attended on a regular basis my parents
taught us the word of God, and taught us to live according to His
principles. I will never forget the times we did attend Church. I would
be sitting in the pew, bored, whispering to my sister and passing notes,
when suddenly I would notice something different, it was as if a hush came over the
entire Church. You could feel an incredible tangible presence. Even
though I was young, I knew there was something real about what I
had experienced; it was more than the
man behind the pulpit, the choir, and the packed pews; it was a real &
evident presence. Although there were periods in my life in which I placed
those memories, along with the principles and values I learned on the
back burner, I could never quite forget the experiences I had felt as a
child. Deep down I knew there was something bigger, wiser, and greater
than I had known up to that point. It left a yearning in my heart to
find it. Of course as I sought to make my way in this world on my own,
neglecting all that I had been taught, I found myself flat on my face
more than once. But each time there was a quiet voice standing over me,
extending His hand, picking me up, brushing me off, and embracing me. I
always believed that the scars left behind from my years of disobedience
and rebellion would prevent me from ever being able to serve the God I
had grown to know and love so deeply. How wrong I was as He covered my
scars with His love. He placed the past behind me, giving me a new
beginning, and allowing me the privilege to serve Him. The devotions are not
always written
eloquently, nor do I believe that I possess a special gift or talent, I am simply a
willing heart desiring to be filled. My continued prayer is that each
message is birthed from His heart and anointed so that it makes a
difference to all those who receive it.
I am especially grateful for the
wonderful people who help to make this ministry possible. They have
freely given of their time and talent.
