Do your best to present
yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be
ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Truth is not categorized into denominations. We were all raised either in an organized church or having no spiritual or religious guidance whatsoever. Either way it has had an enormous influence on the way we think and behave and our attitudes towards God. We must remember that God does not recognize us by the denominations and divisions that man has created. He calls us all to be like Christ rather than a good member of a denomination. John Wesley said "Would to God that all party names, and unscriptural phrases and forms which have divided the Christian world, were forgot...I should rejoice if the very name Methodist might never be mentioned more, but be buried in eternal oblivion. Charles Spurgeon also said " I say of the Baptist name, let it perish, but let Christ's name last forever. God's word is what we are to pursue and His truth. When we sit in Church and hear a message do we question what we are hearing? Do we find it in our Bible? Does it line up with what God is speaking through His word to us? Every moral decision, every manifestation of the Spirit, every sermon no matter how astute, needs to be judged by God's word not man's. This is what will shape our beliefs, our faith, and will be how we find the truth we are seeking, not religious traditions or mans philosophy. Prayer Lord the words you speak
are truth and they are life to me. Give me wisdom as I pursue the truth
of Your word. When I seek I know you will answer. Help me be cautious of
mans words and embrace the truth of your word. Amen.
