But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.
1 Corinthians 12:18

Becoming a part of the body of Christ does not mean that we lose our individuality. Everyone is different, God created us that way; we are the ones who create the separation by thinking that we all have to talk the same, dress the same, etc. We are who God created us to be, and have our perfect position in the body of Christ. We have a responsibility to share the love of Christ and the Gospel with others, but it is not our duty to create clones of ourselves in them, and then shun them if they don’t meet our expectations. It simply doesn’t work that way. Can you imagine a body with all the same parts? It would be quite ridiculous. We all have to be ourselves. God is the one who creates the permanent changes from within our hearts. He gives gifts, talents, and ability as He chooses to do so, and He is doing a work within each of us that is preparing us for that purpose. He orchestrates each part of the body, and causes them to work in perfect harmony together.

Prayer

You have created all things perfectly for Your pleasure. Each gift, talent, and ability has been given to us by You and for You. Forgive us for separating from one another because of our differences. Teach us to appreciate each other for who we are, reminding us that we all have a vital function within the body. Help us to encourage and lift one another up, so that we may continue in Your service and accomplish what You have purposed, together as one, Amen.
