God Today Devotions

O you of little faith? So do not worry,
saying, What shall we eat? Or What shall we drink, or what shall we
wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:30-33
Worry robs us of life’s precious moments. As harsh as it may seem, each
moment spent worrying is a waste and a poor demonstration of our faith.
Time spent worrying doesn’t change a thing; it only creates anxiety and
fear. Most all of us have spent time worrying about what may be
tomorrow, instead of trusting today. Maybe it is because we are trusting
in our own ability and resources and failure is a clear possibility.
God, however cannot fail. We need to change our perspective, so we
understand, every possession is a gift from God and each day, regardless
of what it may hold, is held in His capable hands. If we truly seek God,
believing in His love, compassion and ability there is no need to worry.
Jesus has given us hope; a hope that relieves us of anxiety and worry; a
hope that leads us confidently into tomorrow.
Prayer
Lord, I thank You for Your great love and compassion, that meets my
every need and provides every beautiful and wonderful thing I experience
in life. Release my heart and mind from fear and worry, filling it with
Your peace, as I learn to fully trust in Your provision. Help me to do
all that I am capable of and the rest I will entrust to You, in Jesus
name, Amen.
