If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
2Timothy 2:21

We may express an interest in serving God, even a willingness of heart, yet out of our busyness, neglect to seek Him more. The most important thing in our lives, is to seek God’s desire for our lives. Time is precious and we will one day be held accountable for what we have accomplished, with the gifts and talents we have been given. It’s a new year and a time to re-commit ourselves, to spending more time absorbing His word and building our relationship with Him; so that we may know and understand more clearly, our purpose and begin fulfilling our destiny. God is not in a hurry and knows the exact plan He desires to implement within our lives. His timing and ways are perfect; if we are attempting to squeeze in a moment here and there, we could quite possibly miss opportunities to grow closer to fulfilling His will.

Prayer

Lord, remind me today to remain focused on my purpose. Fill my heart with a hunger and longing to learn more of You. Forgive me for the time I have wasted, seeking to fulfill my own desires instead of seeking Your will. Bring me to the door of my destiny, and set my feet on the path that You desire. I surrender my will to You. Amen.
