I am the good shepherd; and I know
my sheep, and am know by my own.
John 10:14
If we aren’t careful we can find
ourselves among the grumblers of the world, who are discontented,
demanding, complaining, and dissatisfied. They wait, ready and willing
to cast judgments on others as if they retain all knowledge and know and
understand all hearts and motives. They are willing to sing the praises
of others as long as it lines up with their agenda, but as soon as they
see something which from their vantage point seems wrong they declare
judgments and scrutinize. God’s ways are not like ours, and He is under
no obligation to confer with us before making a move. We need to remain
focused on God, learning His heart, His ways, and becoming so familiar
with Him, that our spirits immediately will bare witness to His work,
not only in our own lives, but in the lives of others. We need to break
out of our own way of thinking and be open and willing to embrace what
God is doing. We are sheep that need to be familiar with and obey the
sound of our Shepherd’s voice.
Prayer
Lord, open my heart and mind. Fill
it with Your wisdom, and help me to draw in closer to You. I am Yours
and desire to follow Your will and ways. Forgive me for being a grumbler
at times, and making judgments on others, and even concerning things You
are doing within my own life and heart based on my preconceived ideas
about You. Reveal more of Yourself to me, I am listening. Allow Your
love to be evident in my life, and Your joy to overflow in every area,
Amen.
