Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:28

It seems there is time for everything, except rest. If we allow our bodies to become weary, we can be sure our souls will soon follow. We need to make time to rest our bodies, our minds, and nourish our souls. Things come into our lives unexpectedly. Everything can be going great, when out of the blue, we are faced with a situation that may overwhelm us. It is during these times, we become so very aware of just how much we depend on the strength of God. Praying, reading God’s word and spending time in His presence, are not something that we can afford to neglect, whether the sun is shining or the skies in our life have turned gray. We need to place our focus on God every day, not just when our world is taken aback, in the midst of a crisis. It is at His feet we regain our strength; renew our faith, and stability. He will flood our souls with joy and peace, as He triumphantly handles each situation that comes our way.

Prayer

Lord, you constantly amaze me! Thank you for allowing me to see that You are in control of all things. When I am tired, and torn, remind me to take time to rest in Your presence, nourishing my soul with Your word, and receiving the strength, comfort, peace, joy, and faith I need to get through this day, whether the sun is shining or cloudy. Amen.
