Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit,
but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you
should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of
others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:3-5
Each time we show compassion, kindness, love and understanding toward
others, we honor God; meeting the needs of others, above and beyond our
own feelings and needs. It doesn’t require a formal title, but this
service is of great importance to God. Being available and willing, day
or night to answer a call for help, spending time with the lonely,
listening to those in distress, and being willing to drop whatever we
are doing to answer a higher calling of service, making these Holy
duties a priority in our lives, and Simply loving in the name of Jesus.
What a joy, not a task, to be in the service of our Lord.
Prayer
I make myself available for service. Let Your loving kindness shine
through all that I do. Let my actions speak louder than my words. It is
truly an honor and joy to be in Your service. Amen.
