The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 2:17

My human nature is continually struggling with the authority and will of God. It is however, those natural desires that lead me away from the safe harbor; they very swiftly pull me from the shore of safety and security and into the churning raging waters that long to envelope my soul. I have come to understand, my life is not my own. As I learn to surrender the desires of my heart to God, the more I begin to see them fulfilled. The more of myself that dies away; the more alive I become. My Spirit desires to walk in the integrity and character pleasing to my God, yet this endless tug of war persists and will continue to be a battleground for my soul, until the last breath I take on this Earth. It is His grace that will save me, and His strength that will shine through my every weakness; allowing me to triumph in all circumstance. I will continue to hold onto His hand and trust in His unfailing and steadfast love, as I let go of the momentary pleasures of this world, realizing the path I am on will lead me safely home.

Prayer

My life is Yours Lord, I surrender all that I have ever hoped and dreamed into Your capable hands. I desire my life to bring glory to You. You are my strength and my portion, in You I trust. Refresh and renew me day by day. When I am tired and weary You are my joy, my hope and my song. Your grace is sufficient, Amen.
