"You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt
if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be
thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
Matthew 5:13
Is it possible that the reason we see such a lack of moral values in our
country and many others places around the world, is not so much because
of the vain teachings and humanistic views being shoved down our throats
day after day, but because there is not enough of the light of Jesus
Christ beaming from the lives of Christians? Could it possibly be that
our lives don't create a hunger or thirst for truth? We have tasted of
the goodness of the Lord; we have known first hand His love and mercy.
We have a responsibility to share and to live that truth and extend that
same love and mercy to others. We can influence the lives of many, just
by living ours day to day, filled with the truth of the One and only
living God. The Spirit within us creates the salt in our lives and if
any get a taste, they will most certainly thirst for more. When our
lives don't match our words, they get crushed and often ignored. This
leaves a giant opening for any vain philosophy to become accepted. We
may feel insignificant in the entire scheme of things, but it only takes
one life to make a difference.
Prayer
I thank You for setting us free from sin and death. You have given us
life, we have experienced Your love and mercy first hand; Your truth
dwells within our hearts. You have anointed us to preach the good news
of Your truth and love to all. Holy Spirit live in each part of our day,
make our lives salty, and cause others to thirst after Your living
water. Allow my life to make a difference today. You are awesome God!!!
Amen.
