God Today Devotions

No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:4

Most days as we embark on our daily routine, we may not feel like our lives have any special meaning or purpose. The truth is, each one of us is special and we all have a purpose. God the ruler of all creation, has chosen us to make eternal and lasting impacts. There is a battle that has been ongoing through the centuries. We have been chosen and recruited into battle. Regardless of what we do to make a living, we have been called to a greater purpose; sharing the love, truth and hope of Jesus Christ. The battle that is waged, is not one that is won with hate, but with the perfect and eternal love of God. When we share a kind and encouraging word, love those who are unlovable, or are inconvenienced in the middle of the night to answer a call for help, when we provide food and shelter for those less fortunate, and sharing the hope and truth of Jesus Christ; this is the purpose that gives meaning to our lives. We are God's hands to the world. He touches them through us, they see Him through us. Regardless of our job title or the position we may hold, there is no work more important. As we face this new day and begin our routines, we must not forget or neglect our most important tasks of the day, our service to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for choosing me, it is a joy and privilege to be in Your service. Remind me of truly important tasks that are before me today. Allow Your love to reflect in all that I say and do, so that the actions of my life speak of Your love. Amen
