For I am God, and there is no
other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the
beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying,
"My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure.
Isaiah 46: 9-10
We have a tendency to place such great importance on ourselves; what we
are planning to accomplish in our lives, and how we are viewed by
others. Sometimes we fail to place our hope in something greater than
ourselves or than we can accomplish. We are deceived if we think
everything that happens to us is all about us. Truly this life we are
living is about something much greater than us. Sure it is difficult to
lay aside our feelings, as well as our hopes and dreams and accept God’s
will in all things, regardless if we benefit from them or not. If we
can’t bring ourselves to totally trust in the love and wisdom of God, it
can be quite a frightening place we find ourselves in. We want to know
for certain the plan, we want to understand each intricate detail, yet
sometimes we don’t understand and we don’t know for certain the outcome;
we simply have to trust. God knows the end from the beginning and knows
each turn and dangerous place on the road He has placed us. He will
increase our faith, and give us the hope and the joy that will sustain
us until the day we reach the end of our journey.
Prayer
You are the only One and true God, and there is none like You. I seek
Your will for my life. Align my desires with Your desires. The joy of
knowing You gives me strength, Your peace floods my soul regardless of
what I face. You are faithful. I ask that You increase my faith as I
place my destiny in Your hands. I understand that there is a greater
purpose than what I am able to see and understand; it’s not all about
me. I submit my life to You, totally and without reservation. Your will
be done in all things. Amen.
