By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,  1 John 4:2

Great words do not make great men or make them holy and just . There is more than enough evidence to prove this statement true today. There are plenty of wonderful sounding philosophies and teachings that have infiltrated our society and culture. Over the years we have shrugged off, and for the most part, ignored the steady flow of theories of Darwin and Marx, and a slew of others following in their footsteps. They present great words, and most bear a hint of the truth, but when put to the test they fail miserably. How long will we continue to sit, sleeping in our pews, as these theories and ideas methodically saturate our society, our schools, and even our churches. We have allowed a handful to rewrite, and even eliminate much of our history. We have idly stood by, as our society is being changed to fit the agenda of a few. It is time that we being to evaluate our motives and ask ourselves some tough questions.  Have we come to fully realize and appreciate our freedom through Christ? Will we wake up and finally decide that our lamps have begun to go dim, and that it is time to remove the cover and allow the light of Jesus Christ to shine through our lives,? Has our faith in God been more of an event we experience a few hours a week, instead of a constant communication with our Heavenly Father? Are we awake yet, and will we follow in obedience, the truth that God is the Creator of the Universe, and that He has sent His Son to redeem all of mankind? Are we willing to share this precious truth at the cost of our own personal gain or inconvenience? How deep is our love for God? What we do speaks louder than all of our words. So who are we?

Prayer

We are not alarmed, by what we witness each day. It merely confirms your word and your truth in our hearts and minds. Continue to lead us by your truth; we are listening to your voice and are willing to obey. Forgive us for our apathy, and for what we have taken for granted. Ignite a fire within our hearts and souls. We are your children, teach us, anoint us, prepare us, and let your light shine through us continually. Amen.
