But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Faith is spoken of often, and displayed much less. Faith is not faith, unless it reaches beyond the obvious. We know God exists. We know because of our faith. Our faith embraces His promises, convinced beyond all doubt that He will honor His word. We believe that Jesus died for our sins, and rose on the third day, even though we did not witness it. We have not seen the mansions that He has promised He is preparing for us, but yet we hope for the day when we will take up permanent residence in them. Faith trusts in the promises of God, even when they seem to go unfulfilled, because our faith walks past today, running ahead with confidence into tomorrow, expecting and hoping. We desperately seek success in this world, but our faith in God will reap rewards beyond what we can imagine.

Prayer

Our hearts desire to please you Lord. So often we get caught up in the things that surround us, we place such confidence in things that are fleeting. Today we place our faith in You, hoping beyond what we see and feel, to what we know is real and true. You are the treasure that we seek, and the measure of our success. Thank you for your faithfulness to your promises and to Your word. Amen.
