But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham!" "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said, " do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son."
Genesis 22:11-12

God called Abraham "His friend". His relationship with God clearly revealed love, trust and total faith. Through many years, God refined Abraham's faith and brought him to this moment of truth. The moment when he wasn't holding on to anything, but released everything to God, that was precious to him. Abraham expressed his faith through his obedience. He made a choice to obey, no matter what God was asking, he was willing to do. He did it without demanding an explanation and did not question God; he understood that he could completely trust in His God. At that moment, Abraham's heart revealed that through the refining of God, he had come forth as pure gold. Abraham knew God and knew his voice, each time God spoke, he answered "Here I am". Nothing in Abraham's life took priority over God. It was not Isaac that God desired, but Abraham's trust.

Prayer

Lord, I love you and thank you, for allowing me to have a relationship with you. Help me Lord, to express my faith in my day to day living, and to obey your voice without question. Help me to trust, and love, and have the faith of Abraham. You are my priority. Remove the impurities from my life and refine my faith so that it becomes pure as gold. Speak to my heart Lord; Here I am.
