Praise be to the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

There are times when suddenly, out of nowhere, a gusty wind of adversity makes its way into our lives. It can leave us in a state of confusion, conflict, and chaos. It’s difficult to let go of things that happen, especially if we view it as an injustice. Our thirst to seek revenge and justice will leave us reliving dead issues and living in the past. We simply need to let go. When we keep fanning the flame, it prevents the fire from ever being extinguished, and from us being able to move on. In spite of the pain we experience there is a sweetness, which we too often fail to see when we are in the middle of them. It is through the rough places in our lives, that testimonies are born. They prepare us for our purpose, and allow us the opportunity to comfort others in their time of need. If we want peace in the midst of the storm, we need to continue looking forward, following Jesus and holding on tightly until it passes. When it is over, forget it, don’t look back but keep pushing forward. God is not intimidated by the storms that hit our lives, and we will survive any circumstance as long as He is our guide.

Prayer

We know that you are with us in each situation we face. Continue to give us strength and the ability to let go and follow You. The past is behind, and our future is in Your hands. We will continue to follow where You are leading us. Let our lives and each experience create a testimony of Your goodness, mercy, and grace, that we may share it with others, in Jesus name, Amen.
