If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9
God understands the intentions of our heart. I have heard it said many
times, “God is no longer with me, because of what I have done.” There
could be nothing further from the truth. God is always there and
available. He is waiting to hear from our repentant hearts. The reason
we can’t accept the forgiveness of God, is that we can’t seem to forgive
ourselves. We allow our own guilt to separate us from a relationship
with Him. He understands our imperfections. This does not by any means
give us a license to sin, or abuse His grace. When we knowingly and
willfully sin we will experience repercussions. Yet even then His grace
is available, if we will confess, and repent as we turn our hearts back
towards our God. He looks much deeper into our souls, He knows when we
are truly sorry, and His grace is sufficient always.
Prayer
We have all sinned, and we all fall short of your glory. We have need of
your grace and your mercy. As we ask for your forgiveness we also
forgive ourselves. In your great compassion restore and renew our
hearts, create them brand new, that we may experience the fullness of
Your joy. In Jesus name we ask, Amen.
