Who by him do believe in God that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 1 Peter 1:21

There are many who live in a perpetual state of hopelessness. At the point on the cross when Jesus cried out to the Father, "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?", I believe that He felt the hopelessness and deep sorrow that we have all felt. He knows and understands our human condition. Through His experience on the cross, His death and resurrection, we have been given hope and new life. Many have not yet had the experience of knowing Christ, and understanding that He is their hope, they continue to live in a sea of hopelessness; broken and hurting. They have yet to discover the hope that gives peace and joy in the midst of adversity. With Jesus there is always hope. Jesus is the answer the world is seeking. He comforts, sustains, gives joy and peace at times when human logic would say it is impossible. It is painful to watch those that we love experience misery in their lives, but we can also know, that through these times when nothing else, or no one else can help they will find their faith and true hope in Jesus Christ. They will discover the love that never will fail them, the joy that will always sustain them; an everlasting and true love.

Prayer

You are my hope and have been my light in the darkness. I truly thank you for the experiences that have caused me to reach to You when all my hope was gone and no one could comfort me. You were there; You were able. You have given me new life, new reason to hope; to laugh; to live. I pray that You will answer the cries of the hearts that are broken, and in despair, void of all hope. Holy Spirit speak to each lost and searching heart, reveal to them their true hope in Jesus Christ Your Son, in Jesus name, Amen.
