You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:22-24

Every moment and every day are precious and priceless. Dying to self is essential to enjoying them to the fullest. Self seeks its own vain desires, which are contrary to the desires and purpose of God. They may seem fulfilling for a moment, but in the end render misery. Dying to self, is removing the old principles we once lived by and embracing God’s principles, which create a new nature and birth new life within us. Conversions within our hearts don’t always happen over night. It takes a lifetime for our transformation to become complete. It is God’s grace, which enables us to fulfill His purpose for our lives and tells us we belong to Him. He won’t ever leave us, but is constantly transforming us into His image. When we fall, He picks us up and allows us to begin again. When things are turned upside down in our lives, He is still there, cheering us on, giving us the strength, and wisdom to continue.

Prayer

Enable by your grace to put away our old ways, and habits, that we may embrace Your ways and character. We surrender all that we are to You, create us in Your image, in Jesus name, Amen.
