Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work, so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:2-4

God is present in our joys as well as our sorrows. At first glance, we view problems in our lives as an intrusion, but in the end we can see them as an instrument of instruction, and an answer to prayer. In retrospect we can see that God was leading the way, in the midst of it all. He is continually present and unveiling His purpose. There is no need to doubt or to fear when problems come, we can know with a great assurance, He is always there; His grace is sufficient; His strength is made evident in our weakness. He will be our joy in the midst of it, as well as our peace until it quiets. We can truly rejoice in all things, because God is all powerful, all loving, and always in control.

Prayer

We thank you Lord for your faithfulness. In Your presence is fullness of joy, regardless of the circumstances that surround. Continue to lead us, and help us to receive with joy your wisdom and instruction in whatever form it comes. Open our eyes and our hearts, help us to see through the sorrows and the joy, that You are doing a complete and perfect work within our souls. Amen.
