Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
James 4:14

In this life we have been given a peek into the eternal and everlasting world. A glimmer of what is to come. Our futures are far greater than our minds can begin to comprehend. The hope and assurance we have, we have received through Jesus Christ. Embracing the eternal and letting go of the things in this world, does not mean that we should close ourselves off and ignore all that goes on in the world, but it changes our perspective as we live in it. We are not so attached that we blind ourselves to the reality of eternity. This lifetime that seems so mammoth to us, in reality is but a passing mist. A short amount of time in comparison with the rest of forever. God is our reality, and more real than what we can see, touch, and feel. Each new day can be embraced free of worry, and of fear, overflowing with assurance for our future. Our treasure is buried deep within our souls, it cannot be shaken or removed.

Prayer

As we begin this new day, we thank You for the hope and assurance we have for the future. You are our treasure, our reality, our hope. We thank You for this life, and all the blessings surrounding it, but this world is not our final destination. We long for the day we will see You face to face. Whatever we may face today, we know we are secure in Your capable hands. Amen.
