For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

Many people think of religion and God as the same. Sadly enough sometimes they are anything but the same. We will easily and quickly lose site of God when we become driven and motivated by religion and exclude Him from the equation. Religion will not save us.  We can't work our way into the Kingdom of God. We must however, make a choice to accept His invitation. It’s all too easy to get caught up in the good we are doing, and forget who is truly in charge. We are the ones who submit to His will and allow Him to do a beautiful work in our lives. We can’t possibly assume to take credit for the wonderful things He does. It is all for Him, about Him, and because of Him.

Prayer

Thank you for the gift of salvation and for loving and accepting us. There is nothing we can do to earn it, You have given it freely to us all. Your mercy and grace opens every door. Forgive us for becoming so focused on what we are doing and seeking to follow doctrine instead of Your will. It is all about You and we give You all the glory and the honor. Amen.
