You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.
Acts 2:28

We don’t find happiness and contentment in this life by searching for it. True happiness is found when we come to a place in which we can accept and be content in whatever circumstance we may find ourselves. Most search for happiness via the money trail. It indeed will lead them to a prosperous place, but a place lacking what they truly desire. A place that cannot offer anything more than a temporary fix for an aching soul. It loses its appeal all too quickly. We can change the way we look, our surroundings, our finances, or our position, believing in our hearts that once our goal is achieved, we will then be content and happy. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. If we can’t find happiness in the worst circumstance, we won’t find it in the best. True happiness is not contingent upon outward circumstances, but the result of an inward joy. Jesus is the source of our joy. Once we find Him, we can be truly happy.

Prayer

Fill our hearts with Your joy overflowing. You are our source. Regardless of the situations we face, and all that surrounds us, whether rich or poor, healthy or unhealthy, weak or strong, we look to You for our peace, contentment, and happiness. You have filled the aching in our souls with Your joy, and satisfied them like nothing else can. We thank You and give You praise! Amen.
