God Today Devotions 
September 11, 2003

I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
2 Samuel 22:4

When our hearts are in anguish and hopelessness attempts to settle in, we lift them to God in sweet surrender. His Holy presence covers us and speaks words to our hearts, which comforts like no other can. We then can say, that He has been our support and with Him we can scale a wall and advance against a troop. According to His strength we are strengthened. He is our shield and our strength and the lifter of our heads. He has displayed unfailing love and kindness towards us. Wherever we may be, whether gathered together or alone in our homes, when with our hearts we sing praise to His name, He is there with us, inhabiting our praise. Everywhere we look, we see His face; there is no place to hide from Him. Every step we take, He is there, encouraging us, giving us wisdom and instruction in every situation we face. He is there, every moment, every second, and every breath.

Prayer

Holy God we lift our hearts to Your in praise. We sing of Your holiness and Your faithfulness to us. We sing Holy to the Lamb of God, who was slain for the world. You are our strength; You are our victory, You satisfy our souls. Your truth will march on. We sing glory, glory to Your name. Great is the Lord our God and greatly to be praised! Renew the strength of our spirits; sustain us with Your mighty hand of righteousness. In You we place our trust. Blessed be Your Holy name. Your praises will continually flow from my mouth.
