That night all the people of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly and said to them, "If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this desert! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword?
Numbers 14:1-3

Sometimes things do not go as we think they should. Life has times of happiness and times of sorrow. Disappointments will come; however more important is the way we react to them. Sometimes we seek an excuse to be angry, blaming something or someone else for things that happen, instead of looking beyond our comfort and ourselves and seeing something much grander occurring. Self-pity is a trap that will distract us from the fulfillment of what God desires to bring into our lives. If we are caught up in it, we just may find ourselves wandering in the wilderness.

Prayer

I surrender all to You; my disappointments, attitudes, hopes and dreams. Open my eyes that I may see, that each day and through every situation, with You there is hope for a new beginning. Help me to remain focused on where You are taking me and off of the circumstance. Amen.
