I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this
bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh,
which I will give for the life of the world.
John 6:51
Jesus is the one thing that we can indulge in. There is just no way
we can get too much of Him. He is our bread, sustaining and satisfying. We
build a wall of protection around ourselves, thinking we will be safe,
only to watch all that we thought secure, crumble before our eyes. There
is nothing we can build that will bring us more security and peace, than
the giver of life Himself, Jesus Christ. When we indulge in the bread He
provides, we will never be hungry, never be lacking, and eternally secure.
Prayer
Lord, from Your hand we have received generously. Forgive us for trusting
in our own ways and means, and neglecting to sit and feast at Your table.
You are the giver of life; all that we could possibly need can be found in
You. We praise You for abundant and eternal life. Amen.
